Hi, I am Julie Fisk, candidate for Clintonville District 1 Area Commissioner. I first moved
to Clintonville in 2003 – I love Clintonville and my first home and current home are both in the District 1 borders of South Clintonville.
I received a Master’s in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, and spent most of my career in brand management, marketing and client services for Fortune 500 companies. Now, I run my own neighborhood business as a massage therapist at Natural State Bodywork, located upstairs from Cup O Joe coffeehouse. I am also a member of the Clintonville Area Business Association.
I am active in our Clintonville community and can often be found supporting our local businesses, biking the Olentangy Trail, enjoying the parks and tennis courts, or walking the district neighborhood with my goldendoodles, Riley and Bear. I love hosting boardgame gatherings or wine and food parties.
This month you will find me volunteering at Crestfest, hanging out at Cup O Joe and enjoying Wonderbus music festival. Meet me and ask questions about the Commission, the community or my candidacy – at Cup O Joe on Friday mornings in August from 8:30-9:30am (August 4, 11, 18, 25) – or for 6pm happy hour at Derive on Wednesday, August 23 and at Combustion on Thursday, August 24. Please come say hello and support these local District 1 businesses! Remember – vote at the Whetstone Library – I will be there Tuesday, August 22, 6-8pm, to cast my vote (and then to Local Cantina for Taco Tuesday!) … you can also vote on Saturday, August 26, 10am-2pm.
I look forward to working with the City of Columbus and my neighbors to help keep District 1 a safe place to live and enjoy, and to help support our role as a place that welcomes and supports multi-generational homeowners and renters, as well as pedestrian friendly local businesses. We are a funky and fun part of Clintonville; I would be honored to help our neighborhood showcase this personality and further develop our footprint, unique from the Old North and University Districts, and complimentary to all we love about Clintonville.
